Our Luxury Yacht Charter 

Captain Kenny and Captain Monica are the absolute epitome of hospitality, kindness and adventure.
After an incredible journey from MA, via car, we arrived to the smiling, warm faces of the Captains. We finally made it to our tropical destination in The Keys and we embarked on the trip that all other trips wish they were.
This trip was more than we could have imagined. My heart was overflowing with gratitude and the beauty of the surroundings was matched with that of our two amazing hosts. From the mouth watering meals prepared by the hosts to the days filled with activities that allow you to enjoy the amazing beauty of The Keys this was by far the best family vacation we have ever had.
This is the first trip where you leave with two new friends. Captain Kenny and Captain Monica, the McMartin family loves you guys. We are definitely going to be coming back. This vacation allows you to truly disengage and enjoy every moment of every day you are aboard License to Chill.

Kenny and Monica were awesome hosts! We had so much fun! They are very personable, easy going. This is a great way to unwind and relax. We boarded at 12 pm on a Monday and stayed until about 12pm on Wednesday. During the trip, we saw dolphins and a large starfish and other wildlife. The water was crystal clear. The yacht was immaculately clean, and Kenny and Monica were so fun to hang out with. Each morning they cooked us yummy egg/toast and fruit type breakfasts, and we had tacos for lunch. Both evenings we took the dingy to shore and ate at a local beachfront restaurant that they suggested. It was like going on vacation with friends. We swam off the back of their boat and sat on the top deck as well as the covered area. One thing we loved is the breeze was so nice and the shaded, covered porch/deck protected our skin when we didn’t want too much sun. We will definitely be back again! DO IT, it's a yachta fun! If you're already this far along in considering some time aboard License to Chill, just book it! Skip the hassle of trying to find a cool condo or hotel on the water, fighting traffic every time you want to go out to eat, or get anywhere for that matter. This experience is like none other. Kenneth and Monica are real and genuinely kind people who know what they're doing and value your safety and positive experience with them. Moms or dads, are you researching the logistics of a family vacay with lots of water based activities and relaxation? This is ALL the fun without the logistical responsibility. It won't get any better in the keys without way more $$. Just do it. It's worth the price per night. I could NOT have booked a decent place to stay in the keys, experienced ALL we did as a family, and fed the family all the wonderful meals we ate at that price for the total trip. I'd do it again without thinking twice, and I intend to! We did 4 nights, and it was ideal for our family of 4. As I write this review I'm struggling to go adapt back to the real world. Life at sea has changed me. I've been secretly looking at yachts for sale and pondering how to pull it off and convince my wife that we need to continue our live aboard experience for the rest of our days.....

"Staying with Captain Kenny and First Mate Monica on their yacht was like reuniting with lifelong friends. From swapping life stories under starry skies you could almost touch, to sharing laughs over Monica's mouthwatering pork chops, every moment was unforgettable. We loved the rhythm of our days—one night indulging in Monica’s incredible home-cooked meals (seriously, those pork chops!), the next night exploring local Key restaurants via their trusty dinghy. Captain Kenny’s breakfast game is strong—those pancakes are worth waking up for! The days were filled with snorkeling, paddleboarding, and soaking up the sun on the front deck, while the nights were pure magic. Whether cruising through the barrier islands or simply chilling on the yacht, we earned our 'license to chill.' And no worries about a rushed checkout—sleep in, relax, and enjoy your last morning without any pressure. Highly recommend, but only if you’re ready for an unforgettable experience ❤️"

We stocked up on food and drink (enough to almost sink a dingy!) at a Publix two minutes from the dock. We were met by Monica and Kenny at the dock and a short dingy trip later we were on Licence to Chill. Kenny and Monica are some of the most super lovely people you are likely to come across in your lives. They are so easy going you feel right at home on "Licence to Chill" from the outset. We joined them with our two boys (under 8) for the New Year festivities and a three day cruise. Being on the boat right under the fireworks was really special. Our three day adventure highlights were watching wild dolphins playing in the wake looking right at you while you watch them (magical); "big game" cruise - hunting through the backwaters of the mangroves on the little dingy for Manatee; mucking about on the floaties and (very, very lucky us); getting to see a Manatee mum and her calf and, not to forget, a somewhat unscheduled "poo boat" ride (not many people can say they have done that!). Monica and Kenny were really super with our boys... Monica gracefully endured several hours each day of our littlest singing to her! Kenny drew up charts for the boys which plotted our course and summarised our adventures which are great keepsakes of our special time. Licence to Chill is beautifully maintained and the rooms are very comfortable. The galley has everything you need and we prepared some super diners with Monica. Breakfasts were made by Kenny and Monica and were delicious. If you want a really memorable adventure then you will have a great time on Licence to Chill. It is boat living though so it is not the same as being in a hotel (it's far less boring!). Kenny and Monica gave us the best tips for our onward trip in the rest of the Keys. They are truly fantastic hosts.

Making Memories to Last a Lifetime
This is a very unique opportunity that we cannot recommend enough. Captains Kenny and Monica take care of the plan, food and accommodations, you just sit back and relax and enjoy the ride. It was my husband, two kids (14 &18) and me, and we all enjoyed the balance of peace and chill time with activity. You are living aboard Kenny and Monica's 55’ yacht, and experience the upper Florida Keys. We cruised, fished, swam, floated, paddle boarded, tubed and snorkeled. They prepare the most beautiful, tasty and hearty meals and are gracious and welcoming hosts. They personalized our experience and truly made it special. They are safety conscious as well. This is different than a standard charter experience in a couple ways, some ways include... -flexibility on length (they allow for a shorter cruise than most charters) -they spend time with you, you are floating in their home, that being said Kenny and Monica provide a good balance of privacy and companionship. There was plenty of space aboard for all six of us. -you bring your own liquor, was not a problem (and prob saves you money in the end) All in all, I cannot say enough good things if you're looking for a vacation that is different than the norm and if you enjoy, or are curious about, boat life. Kenny and Monica are a lovely couple who are easy to get to know, and really care about their guests' enjoyment and experience aboard License to Chill.

We came to dip our toes in the live-aboard life and got hooked!
My husband and I are boat owners in Lake Michigan and have fantasized about a life at sea for years. Finally we decided to make this dream a reality and test it out aboard Captain Kenny and Captain Monica’s License to Chill. We got hooked! Not only did we love getting to know License to Chill and the lifestyle it provides, we also loved getting to know our hosts! Kenny and Monica are wonderful hosts, listeners, and story tellers! Their hospitality was a tremendous gift. My husband and I came away with all of our questions about boat life answered. What we thought we would do years from now, we now want to do asap!
